Here is an explanation by themselves.

They are originally from a Chinese social platform Douban, due to their original name "Gossip Coming (八卦来了)" was banned once, they had to take the name "Douban-er" to avoid censorship. The pronunciation of the word "goose" in Mandarin is "é (鹅)", which sounds similar to "er", so they call themselves "é Group (鹅组)" afterwards. Therefore, "Goose Group" is a literal translation to English, which continues to be used after coming to Reddit.

You are correct. r/real_China_irl is more anti-CCP than r/China_irl, but for those most extreme anti-Chinese Chinese people (yes you didn't read that wrong) in r/TZTV, even r/real_China_irl is considered moderate by their standards. Even r/Youmo, which is under the same umbrella with r/TZTV, is still often called "eunuchs" by r/TZTV users. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ugh, it's way too complicated to explain all of this, so I'll just give a rough answer of the 3 major groups.

The "Langren (浪系 - Blue color)" is basically a group of Chinese people, who have a strong anti-CCP stance and are also strongly critical of Chinese culture. But because they once violated Reddit terms (doxxing), many of their communities have been banned on Reddit.

The "Eunuch/Taijian (太监系 - Beige color)" is an insulting name given to this group by the Langrens, because they are generally sympathetic/not fiercely critical of the CCP/China, and the mods often ban people with excuses.

The "Goose (鹅系 - Orange color)" is the name for the feminist communities. It's worth noting that there are many TERFs among them, and the sub with the most users is woman-only according to the rules.
