Google is the no brainer. You get 15Gb of space, your documents go anywhere you login with your email. You can share them and work simultaneously with others on them. They work in browser or offline if you want them to. The formulas and tools in Sheets are in some ways better than Excel. There's no other competition for something that's free.

This sounds like depression coupled with some aspects of ADHD and extreme "task paralysis". I've been there, but I recognized that it was a serious problem and took steps to make changes. Anyone telling you this doesn't sound like ADHD is wrong. Sure there's other factors here, but much of what brought him to this point was likely ADHD.

Seeking help, medication, and better diet were my first steps and then making some changes to my "default" time sinks. Getting more off of my phone and computer, taking on new healthy hobbies etc. I had to get out of the denial stage and want these changes. My Wife (GF at the time) suggested we get back to Backpacking together and going on some bucket list trips.

I've definitely regressed sometimes and occasionally drive my Wife nuts with half finished tasks and procrastination on my projects around the house. It requires a constant cooperative effort from each of us to get over some of my hurdles and she does her best to blatantly outline where she's at and what she is feeling and seeing, because I'll often have tunnel vision to much of it. As far as taking care of a child though? Never had any issues with that. I always take care of my kid and jump at the chance to spend time... That's why I see depression and other factors (selfish factor?) at play here.

Outline some of your issues and share them with him, but don't berate or inundate him with all of it. Don't be too accusatory, just be very calm and matter-of-fact. Say that you're going to take steps to leave (and actually begin them, don't just use them as false ultimatums) and outline what you expect of him if he wants you to stay (counseling, changes, outline of plans, medication, etc.).

His depression is infecting your life. Don't feel bad for taking steps to do what's best for your health, but also don't give up too soon especially if there's a kid involved.

Where I was at, it put 4th of July to SHAMMEEE in terms of "personal" fireworks displays. Nonstop fireworks for like 5 hours straight in my and neighboring towns. Some more going off today.
